Nicole reached out to me very early this year about scheduling an engagement session for her and Marco on the beach. She sent me an inspirational photo (one of mine from a previous family session) of what she was looking for. Her dream was a sun drenched evening.
As I saw the clouds rolling in I reached out to Nicole about the weather to be sure she was aware that the sun will more than likely not be joining us that evening and that there was to be a fairly good breeze.
One of the hardest things to battle for beach sessions is the weather. A factor no-one can control, outside of rescheduling. I personally find those odd/off weather days exciting, but I know when you have a vision for your engagement session and/or wedding day it’s hard to see looming clouds and keep your excitement.
I bring this up for this particular session because this session reminds me of a fairy-tale. It has this soft dreamy glow to it that we don’t normally get during sunset sessions. Planning for this type of weather is even harder than planning for a sun.
So my advice when it comes to weather, go with it. Those off days lend to some amazing moments and have the possibility to become something more beautiful than you could have imagined.
Huge thank you to Nicole and Marco for sticking it out and being ok with embracing what the weather shared with us that evening!!
