More often than not, for family sessions and engagement sessions we shoot right around sunrise or sunset. If it’s a beach sunrise session I watch the weather as closely as possible to see if we are going to see those first peaks of light. Yet, as closely as one can watch the weather - we all know that it’s an incredibly hard to fully trust what the weather prediction is. This particular morning it was bright sun at first light less than a mile away, but the clouds that were looming over NYC hung around Sandy Hook. Although this was not what I was expecting, I still love this season and I love the way the light (even behind clouds) feels in the morning. There is something magical about the softness of the colors that you don’t see during any other part of the day.
