Less Perfection. More Authenticity. Part I of the New Brand Identity.
"The Sequoia is an emblem for long life, for attaining your lofty dreams, stretching your limits and reaching to be the best you can be."
It's long overdue, a bit embarrassing really, that I've been sitting on this logo for approximately 23 weeks - but who's counting.
Well, me!! Counting and waiting.
Waiting for the right moment, waiting for the extra time, waiting for the package to be perfectly complete.
Silly me. I should've known better.
It was a project I worked on with (the sweet and amazing) Sharon from Ink + Mortar this past winter and something that I am very proud to have created. It was endless brainstorming, inspiration boards and chats to create this new brand identity for Jenelle Kappe Photography.
By the middle of April we had the guts of it all, I just needed the "fluff". The little details to tie it all together and finish it up with a pretty little bow.
Then wedding season began, things got busy, we got married ... and life, just became life. It took over, as it always seems to do, and the new identity was placed (carefully) on the back burner.
Just recently, I started to question why I was waiting ... what exactly was I waiting for? Nothing comes in a perfect little bow, we certainly aren't guaranteed a tomorrow and isn't life nothing but a working piece of art anyway? So why should I not be sharing this new piece of me with the world ... and work on tying that perfect bow as we go?!?
And so I give to you, the sequoia branch and the first portion of what will soon be a complete and beautiful brand identity. There's more work to be done and so much more to share ... but all in due time.
