Following the Heart - Exploring the World

The moment I first saw this room, was the instant I knew this was it. The next chapter in my life had written it’s own title. The protruding dry lump in my throat and involuntary tears falling from my already tired and weary eyes was only further verification.

This was to be my space - a place to call home, to gain solace in, to find comfort in and grow. A place to call my own. These walls have witnessed some of my darkest moments and the shedding of thousands of tears - stemming from every corner of the spectrum; from sadness, to desperation, to excitement, to loneliness, to happiness. They’ve embraced some of the greatest memories I think I’ll ever have and allowed me to grow - exponentially. Enabling me to truly embrace myself, to get agrasp on where I stand in the world and what I desire from this life.

This was the day the movers came, all the large/major items were gone, only the nuances were remaining. The little things, thetchotchkes, the last minute organizing of what do I “need” today, what will I need tomorrow and what won’t I need within the next year? It quickly became overwhelming. I needed a moment, a chance to breath. As I sat there I was taken back to where it all started, 15 months ago, when I was first introduced to this room. And so returned the dry lump, the tears. It was to be the last time this home - these walls - would hear my reflections and catch my falling tears. This time, the tears were for nostalgia, for accomplishment and for gratefulness. A small thank you to a place that has embodied an immeasurable change in my life and soul. But it was time to say good-bye. The next chapter of my life has been titled and it’s time to fill the pages.

In two months, I'll be living in a van and sharing a 6 month cross-country adventure with someone who has significantly reinforced my ideals of embracing life, living for the moment and enjoying as many seconds as you can. @parkerhilton - A person who has inspired me to truly strive for a love and a life that was made for movie screens.

I close this chapter with excitement, eagerness and the hope that you'll follow our journey. The overall route is NJ to FL to CA to AK - and so many stops in between // more details to come - we really hope to see you on our journey!
